MDF Painting & Power Washing vs. Done Right Handyman: pressure washing pick in Connecticut
MDF Painting & Power Washing, LLC and DONE RIGHT HANDYMAN SERVICES LLC both turn up as genuine options for pressure washing and prep work in Bridgeport, but they come at the job from different angles: one is a painting outfit that treats power washing as the first step before paint goes on, the other is a handyman crew that treats it as one task among many. Our methodology weighs both the same way, so what follows is judgment on which fits your job.
The differences that matter
- Prep-for-paint vs. standalone clean. MDF builds power washing into a full exterior painting and carpentry workflow, so surfaces get washed with the coat of paint in mind, while Done Right treats pressure washing as one item alongside furniture moving, drywall repair, and grill cleaning.
- Track record depth. MDF's rating is backed by 855 reviews against Done Right's 90, giving MDF a much longer paper trail specifically on exterior and wash-related jobs.
- Crew size and named specialists. MDF reviewers name multiple standout crew members (Brandon, Juan, Junior, Jonathan, David, Hiram), pointing to a larger team, while Done Right's work centers on Elmer and his crew.
- Price and turnaround. Done Right's summary calls out rates significantly lower than competing handyman services with same-day or next-day availability, while MDF's edge is working fast on tight timelines within a fuller-service painting job.
- Scope if the job grows. If the pressure washing job turns into a paint job, MDF is already set up for that; if it turns into unrelated repairs like drywall or installations, Done Right covers that ground instead.

What reviewers say
MDF Painting & Power Washing, LLC
Reviewers consistently report professional, thorough work across painting, deck refinishing, and power washing projects. Juan's crew, Gina, Jeffrey, Brandon, and Jonathan are named specifically for expertise in deck staining, carpentry, quoting, and project coordination; cleanup and attention to detail are regular highlights.
MDF handles residential and exterior jobs with embedded carpentry and stain matching. Customers value the listening ear at estimate, the timeliness of crews, and the upfront communication. Minor carpentry, ceiling leaks, cedar clapboard replacement, and tricky color matching appear to set them apart from basic painters.
DONE RIGHT HANDYMAN SERVICES LLC
Elmer and his crew deliver strong results across handyman, drywall, and installation work with quick response times and competitive pricing. Most jobs wrap in days or hours, and customers consistently praise the team's efficiency and willingness to problem-solve. One recent customer paid a steeply quoted price for basic tasks without advance itemization and faced communication silence afterwards, which stands out sharply against the pattern of responsiveness elsewhere.
The business handles interior and exterior prep work, painting, cabinet finishing, and wallpaper installation alongside broader handyman services. Their named lead (Elmer) and rotating crew members show up on schedule, leave spaces clean, and often complete jobs faster than customers expect. Several reviews mention fair pricing relative to competitors, though that one quote anomaly warrants clarifying estimates upfront.
Which should you pick?
Pick MDF Painting & Power Washing, LLC if
- Your pressure washing is prep for an upcoming paint job, deck refinish, or carpentry work
- You want a crew with a long, specifically exterior-focused review history to check against
- You need a job that can flex from washing into full repaint work without switching contractors
Pick DONE RIGHT HANDYMAN SERVICES LLC if
- You just need the wash done, possibly alongside other small repairs in the same visit
- You want same-day or next-day scheduling and rates positioned below competing handyman services
- Your project also involves non-painting tasks like drywall, installations, or furniture moving
Verdict
The real question is what the pressure washing is for. If it's the first step toward a paint job or deck work, MDF Painting & Power Washing fits better because the wash and the paint come from the same crew with a long track record on exterior work. If the wash is a one-off task that might sit next to other household fixes, Done Right Handyman's faster turnaround and lower handyman-market pricing make it the more practical call.
